Retreat in Cathar Country, 13-20 October – spaces still available!
Finding Meaning and Purpose in the Second Half of Life:
A Journey towards Love and Wisdom
C.G. Jung in his book Modern Man in Search of a Soul remarked that all his patients in the second half of life were seeking a spiritual outlook. The outer expansive movement of acquiring and having is now turned towards the inner journey of being and wholeness: a pilgrimage towards a wholeness of love and wisdom.
During this retreat in the beautiful Cathar and Troubadour region of France we will draw inspiration from their cultural heritage that included a deep respect for the feminine Grail principle without neglecting the more masculine ‘sword of the spirit’. In our time, there is a resurgence of interest in the Cathars as well as in the development of personal and gnostic spirituality based on the divine within.
The inner journey of the retreat will be reflected in our outer journeys to local sacred hills and caves. The programme will include talks, discussions, sacred geometry, movement, excursions and walks – and of course rest and relaxation. We will visit the Cathar strongholds of Montsegur, Foix and Lordat, as well as spending a day visiting the castles of Puylaurens and Peyrepertuse, with a restorative lunch in Cucugnan. We will also visit the picturesque Mirepoix market.
Accommodation: The comfortable accommodation at Le Foulon in St Colombe is in single and double rooms. The delicious vegetarian food is cooked by my son George, and there will be some good wine on hand for those who like a glass (charged at cost).
Costs: The cost of €600 per head includes registration and full board with vegetarian food for seven nights (only excluding Cucugnan lunch in October). A deposit of €100 or £90 per head is payable on booking. En suite rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis with priority given to couples. Groups will be limited to a maximum of 10.
